Can You Do Universal Studios Hollywood in One Day

Nosotros are the proud new owners of Universal Studios Hollywood Annual Passes and we're excited to share with you lot our favorite foods and rides from our recent visits, as well equally share some tips for visiting, especially if y'all only take ane day to see information technology all.

JP and I have both visited the park previously, but never together. He enjoyed seeing how the park has changed in the 10+ years since his final visit. I've just visited twice previously and those were both in the past five years, so non much has changed for me except Jurassic Park is now Jurassic World.

Universal Studios Hollywood One Day Itinerary

There are and so many dandy photograph ops earlier you even enter the park, so plan some time earlier or after your visit to get some photos effectually the entrance!

What to Eat at Universal Studios Hollywood

We haven't tried everything in the park yet, merely these are some of the nearly pop options, as well as some of the more novelty theme park foods available.

Three Broomsticks (Harry Potter)

I think I've eaten here every time I've visited the park and then far. They have so many great options that you lot don't usually find in theme parks. On our most recent visit we had Bangers & Mash, Shepherd's Pie, and a Chocolate Trifle for dessert. There were 3 of united states to share it all, so the portion sizes were perfect. We also had Frozen Butterbeer with our meals, which is a must try at Universal.

Hogs Head

This bar is in the dorsum of Three Broomsticks and it's where you tin go Butterbeer (and fifty-fifty spike it), among other drinks. On this particular visit I but had a drinking glass of wine considering they were out of a handful of things.

Minion Cafe

I'll acknowledge that the theme of the eating place is not what drew me in. This place surprisingly has ane of the all-time menus I've seen in a theme park. We tried the Meatball Parmesan Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup, Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac N Cheese, and Classic Grilled Cheese with Lycopersicon esculentum Soup. Then we tried the Nutella Banana Pudding for dessert. My acid reflux did not love this meal, but I did and that's what matters! I am looking forward to going back on my next visit.

Krusty Burger

This Simpsons themed diner is exactly what you would await from theme park food. They have the typical menu of Burgers and Hot Dogs. On this visit we just stopped in for the Sideshow Bob Footlong (which comes with a side of fries) and 3 of us shared it as a mid-afternoon snack. The inside is nicely themed in dissimilar sections.

Luigi'south Pizza and Pasta

We stopped in here merely for a quick snack. We shared the Fettuchini Alfredo plate among 3 people and it was the perfect size to hold us over until dinner. Their pizza looks pretty good too, only we haven't tried it notwithstanding!

Jurassic Cafe

Hither we tried the Isla Chicken Sandwich and the Ho-hum Roasted Mojo Pork. Nowhere on the carte du jour does the Chicken Sandwich say there is any cilantro, but when we got our sandwich it was covered in it. Then we cut it in half through the heart of the chicken and JP ate the top one-half with all the cilantro (it was mixed into a sauce) and I ate the bottom half that didn't have any on information technology.

Isla Nu-Bar

This is a newer establishment that came forth with the re-blueprint of Jurassic Park into Jurassic World. This place solely serves tropical drinks in various tiki mugs. The drinks are also specifically rum based – merely there is a ton of variety! They take Mai Tai'southward, Rum Runners, Pina Coladas, Painkillers, Bahama Mamas, Tropical Margaritas and more!

Mulligan's Pub

Some other cracking place if yous're just looking for drinks is Mulligan's Pub. Information technology's a small Irish Pub with a limited offering, simply they have my favorite drink which is an Irish Coffee.

Vivo Italian Kitchen (Urban center Walk)

This one is outside the park, but still on property. We all honey pasta and could eat it every solar day, so we decided to have a belatedly dinner hither. When we walked in it immediately reminded united states of the within of the Noodles eating house at the Bellagio in Las Vegas that we LOVE to visit on every unmarried Vegas trip.

The breadstuff service was amazing. Nosotros shared House Made Meatballs with Marinara as our appetizer and Chicken Saltimbocca as our entree. This consisted of spaghetti, fresh sage, prosciutto, and sharp provolone. We were style too full for dessert, but when we go dorsum nosotros'll definitely effort the Tiramisu.

Dongpo Kitchen (CityWalk)

Nosotros started with the Meizhou Pork Buns and Sichuan Dumplings (also pork). For our entree nosotros had the Beefiness Dan Dan Noodles. I loved this whole repast and 100% would go back once again for all of it.

What to Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood

There's more rides (and shows) than these, just if you're visiting for one day and it's busy, these are the must-do'southward that you accept to fit into your schedule.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journeying

This ride has go one of the must-do attractions since it opened a few years ago. It is as immersive as information technology could possibly become and the way it moves around actually feels actually skilful on my back after waiting in line! This line tin easily be one of the top 3 longest lines in the park, and then try to practise information technology very showtime or very last if you want to minimize your await time.

Studio Tour

This is THE #1 attraction in the park. If you do cipher else at all, you absolutely accept to practice the Studio Tour. This takes you lot through the existent NBC studio lot where they are almost e'er actively filming telly shows and movies. When we were at that place about recently they were filming the Saved past the Bong re-boot on a couple of the soundstages.

Every fourth dimension you proceed this it will be a different feel. Sometimes filming diverts the tour to different areas so you might skip it on ane tour, just be able to become through it the next mean solar day. They also added in a few different special effects and experiences that yous'll get to run into on every tour. This ane can likewise have long lines, simply it moves pretty speedily. Again, endeavour to do it early on and so you don't have to await as long. The last tour leaves at least an hour before the park closes, and so keep that in mind if you lot're going later in the day.

Jurassic World

This is still essentially a brand new ride. It opened mid 2019, and so it was open a petty over vi months earlier Universal shut downwardly for the pandemic. They re-modeled the former Jurassic Park ride to exist updated with the franchise, equally well equally updated with new technology. Because of this, this line can exist 3 hours long, particularly on warmer days. And then exist prepared for that!

The three rides I have just mentioned are by and large the 3 nigh pop and tin have the longest wait times, so plan your day around these.

Revenge of The Mummy

This is a Universal Studios classic. Information technology's been around for awhile and has ever stayed popular. It can get long lines, but I oasis't seen it at 3 hours like the other ones. I would say information technology's the most thrilling ride in the park (since it'due south an actual roller coaster). The inside queue is pretty immersive then is the ride experience itself.

The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Ternion

Speaking of immersive queues… this new ride is a completely immersive feel. It gets long lines, but they offer a free reservation system to proceed the wait times downwards. We did this ride on a more recent visit since it was the only attraction in the park we hadn't done nonetheless and loved it. We've never fifty-fifty seen the movie!

Waterworld

Not a ride, just a bear witness. Information technology's non my favorite type of bear witness, but it's a big thing at Universal. They do a lot of stunts and special effects. All the actors in the show are agile stunt men and women in the industry.

What To Know Before Yous Become To Universal Studios Hollywood

Annual Passes

Annual Passes are ridiculously cheap! If y'all're going to visit for more 2 days in an unabridged year, it is cheaper to purchase an Almanac Pass than to purchase unmarried day or multi day tickets.

I personally have the Silver Pass. At that place are a handful of weekend blackouts and Christmas blackouts, but our days off are during the week, then we're not blacked out on whatever twenty-four hours that I would be able to visit. It was simply $189!

JP has the Gold Pass because it includes PARKING! Just 1 of united states will e'er be driving, so it wouldn't make sense for us both to accept the Golden Laissez passer. The Gold Pass also has discounts on food, drinks, and merchandise. So far in our experience we've gotten 15% off for all of our food and beverage purchases (except alcohol obviously). We've establish that the 15% in savings usually pays for the drinkable or a dessert each time nosotros get a repast. The Golden Laissez passer is $249, and then simply $60 more.

Since we bought our tickets, Universal decided to release a Platinum Laissez passer as well, which is $449, or $200 more than the Gilt Pass. The added value of the Platinum Pass is that you go 1 costless Halloween Horror Nights ticket (all passes at least get a discounted ticket), and one Universal Express access each solar day you visit (essentially 1 free Fastpass for any attraction or show each time you visit).

For some I can definitely see that being worth $200 more over the course of the unabridged twelvemonth, but I don't call back nosotros'll be upgrading just even so. I think the Silver and Gold Passes are merely what we need.

Parking

Another plus of the Gold Pass having parking included is that you lot can also upgrade to Preferred Parking for just $7 each time you visit. This parking is much closer to the front of the park, so you don't have to walk all the way through CityWalk to become to the entrance. We did it once and if you lot've got $7 to spare, you might as well use it! Without the Gold Pass, I believe regular parking is $28 and Preferred Parking is $35. They also accept a Front Gate Parking option for $50. If you visit after five pm, yous take to pay for parking even if you have a pass, but it's only $x for general parking and $20 for preferred parking.
